Childhood Cancer Is The Real Boogieman was created out of love for the life kids should live and the heartache that the families endure. Yes, we all know cancer exists. But you've never really known the ugly face of this cruel boogieman until it lurks into one of your family member’s homes.
Kitos Lucero, a native of Las Vegas, was first introduced to pediatric cancer when his 9-month-old nephew, Benji Sanchez, was diagnosed with brain cancer. Thankfully Benji is a survivor!
Kitos' first wall was created the day a good friend’s child passed away suddenly, within 72 hours, to leukemia. After the wall’s massive impact on the community, it became a place to smile and a sanctuary for the family to remember their angel. Kitos, along with his wife & local underground artist buddies, have continued to create beautiful walls around Las Vegas. They are big, bold, and colorful works of graffiti with a message that children’s lives are priceless and worth more than 3.8%.
